Metals Manufacturer Invests in FMB Omega, Refurbishes Second Omega

Reading, PA: Metalworking manufacturer TAB Industries, LLC, Reading, Pa. (, has purchased a new FMB Omega semi-automatic band saw and refurbished its FMB Triton manual band saw. Increasing its in-house metal cutting capacity and expanding its capabilities, the FMB 2020 Omega saw with variable speed drive cuts pipe and tubing in greater wall thicknesses and wider outside diameters than the existing FMB Triton, and at far faster speeds.

The cutting equipment upgrade was necessary to meet current customer demand and maintain short lead times, according to Tom Brizek, president of TAB Industries.

In line with the company’s business strategy to offer the key metal fabricating and secondary services typically needed for its OEM customer base, the new band saw was purchased from metalworking and fabricating equipment distributor Norman Machine Tool, LTD, Baltimore, Md., which also performed the refurbishing of the FMB Triton metal saw. The band saws came online in January, 2022 in the company’s 44,000-square foot, Reading, Pa. manufacturing center.
