Kevin joined the TAB Industries family in July 2023, bringing with him a diverse background that includes four years in automotive sales at a car dealership and experience in HR payroll sales. But what drew him to TAB wasn’t just another career opportunity. It was the promise of something meaningful.
“It’s a family environment,” Kevin shares. “I feel like I’ve been adopted here.” That sense of belonging isn’t just a feeling. It’s reflected in TAB’s impressively low turnover rate, something the entire team takes pride in. In an industry where expertise and relationships matter, stability speaks volumes.
Making an Impact as Sales Executive
In his role as Sales Executive, Kevin wears many hats. Beyond managing customer relationships and fulfilling spare parts orders, he’s been instrumental in modernizing TAB’s operations by implementing our HubSpot CRM system. This move has streamlined how the company manages customer interactions and the sales processes.
But Kevin’s contributions extend beyond traditional sales responsibilities. His growing involvement on the automation side of things has allowed him to bridge the gap between customer needs and technical innovation.
With his finger on the pulse of what customers want, Kevin translates that firsthand knowledge to the team, ensuring TAB’s solutions hit the mark. “I’m getting more involved on the automation and product development side of things,” he explains, a transition that showcases TAB’s commitment to developing employees’ skills and interests.
Innovation in Action
Perhaps most impressive is Kevin’s hands-on involvement in product development. He played a role in developing the TAB Wrapper’s dimensioning system and thermal knife, helped the team develop the TAB Wrapper Lightning, and actively troubleshoots this equipment. It’s this kind of cross-functional collaboration that sets TAB Industries apart: a Sales Executive doesn’t just sell products; they help create them.
“TAB is constantly innovating,” Kevin emphasizes. “The last thing TAB is, is stagnant.” Currently, the team is working on wrapper customizations for the future, continuing the company’s tradition of pushing boundaries in packaging automation.
A Culture of Appreciation
What makes TAB Industries special isn’t just the innovative technology. It’s the culture that nurtures it. Kevin describes a workplace where appreciation flows freely: “Not a day goes by that someone doesn’t say thank you.” With supportive leadership from Tom and Andy, and a lean team where everyone communicates and leans on one another, being in the office does not feel obligatory.
“We work as a team together a lot,” Kevin notes. “It’s a lean team, and everyone communicates and leans on each other.” This collaborative spirit extends to TAB’s presence at two to three trade shows annually, where the team comes together to showcase their innovations to other industry leaders in different sectors of manufacturing.
Words of Advice
For those just starting their careers, Kevin offers straightforward advice rooted in TAB’s philosophy: “Be hungry. We’re big on you don’t need to have all the skills when you join, but take the initiative to learn those skills, and TAB will work with you to grow your career.”
It’s a philosophy that’s served Kevin well and reflects the heart of what makes TAB Industries a great place to work. As he puts it simply: “It’s an amazing place to work. Plan on staying in the TAB family for the foreseeable future.”
Beyond the Office
When he’s not at TAB, Kevin participates in a diverse range of passions. A guitarist since age 10, he finds creative expression through music and his growing vinyl collection. As a self-described “gear head,” he details cars as a side gig, combining precision with passion. Whether he’s on the golf course, carving down a ski slope on his snowboard, or traveling with his wife, Kevin maintains the balance that keeps him energized and engaged.
