TAB Industries Capitalizes on In-House Manufacturing Strategy
Reading, PA: Metalworking manufacturer TAB Industries, LLC, Reading, Pa. (www.tabindustries.com), has broken its record for sales, reporting a 98 percent increase in revenues in 2021 versus 2020. Marking the 17th consecutive year of annual revenue growth since its founding in 2005, the record year stems from the company’s business strategy that called for substantial investments in new, automated machinery and equipment to increase efficiency, reduce lead times, and ensure uninterrupted production.
Laser cutting systems, a press brake, expanded MIG/TIG welding capacity, and other equipment that came online in the company’s Reading, Pennsylvania headquarters last year were key factors in the achievement, according to Tom Brizek, president.
The company’s turnkey manufacturing services also grew considerably. Representing 45 percent of the record revenues, the company serves as an OEM vendor partner providing product design, material sourcing, metal fabricating, laser cutting, welding, machining, assembly, packaging, delivery, and other services to help manufacturers streamline operations and consistently meet their lead times. “In early 2020, it would’ve been very difficult to predict this result for 2021,” says Brizek, “but we moved forward with our plan to control as much production in-house as possible and we’re grateful for the outcome to this point.”
Looking ahead to 2022, Brizek anticipates a similar result, with caution. “Based on our current customer base and the flurry of interest we’ve been getting from new prospects, we’re in a good position to meet our targets for next year,” says Brizek. “We’ve learned to stay alert and be ready to pivot just in case.”
